This entry will cover events that happened since last November 22, 2007, and some reminders on upcoming activities, especially with regard to the upcoming 2nd Leadership Workshop on March 4-6, 2007.
Updates:
1) Individual Consultations (Oct 2007 – Jan 2008)
Prof. Ernie Garilao and Mr. Mike Juan have completed a round of meetings with all of you in an effort to firm up your personal VMOKRAPIs and plans for engaging your stakeholders. We hope you can send the Center your final personal VMOKRAPI complete with Performance Indicators ( i.e., base line and targets data).
2) Peer Learning Session – Luzon Cluster – November 27, 2007
The Center held a Peer Learning Session which essentially aimed to surface lessons and insights on the topic of Co-Ownership in preparation for the Fellows’ upcoming multi-stakeholder engagement endeavors. This Session was attended by Mayor Tante Gerdan, Col. Charlie Galvez, Asst. Suptd. Malcolm Garma, Mr. Vlad Hernandez, Mr. Mari Oquinena, Dr. Lorna Dino, Mr. Ted Romo.

3) Lanuza Core Group Workshop – December 12-13, 2007
BL Fellow, Mayor Geri Irizari, invited the Center for the training of his core group on Bridging Leadership. Mike Juan and Jay Endaya visited Mayor Geri’s municipality last December 2007.
The workshop was attended by various stakeholders coming from local government and civil society sectors of Lanuza.

4) DSWD Core Group Workshop – January 3, 2008
BL Fellow, Dir. Ted Romo, also invited the Center for the training of his Anti-Human Trafficking Core Group in Cebu City. Prof. Garilao and Jay Endaya visited the DSWD VII Office last January 3, 2008.
The workshop was attended by very passionate individuals from NGOs and other civil society organizations involved in the work against prostitution, trafficking in women and children, and the rehabilitation of victims/survivors of such realities.

5) Peer Learning Session – Marawi Cluster – January 5, 2008
The Center held a second Peer Learning Session, this time for the Fellows located near north-central Mindanao. The workshop was attend by, Ms. Chy Canoy, Dr. Saff Dipatuan, and Dr. Okang Dumama.

6) GK Core Group Training – January 14-15, 2008
BL Fellow, Mari Oquinena, brought his core group of GK Regional Coordinators to AIM for a Bridging Leadership Workshop. Prof. Garilao and Mike Juan led the training. The Workshop focused on surfacing the emerging realities in the GK organization as well as training them in the areas of dialogue and forming partnerships.
Reminders:
1) Log Book / Journaling
For the Fellows who have submitted a Log of the activities (and learnings they have gained) so far, thank you. We remind all others to keep a log or journal of their BL endeavors so the Center can have some documents to build your cases from in the future. The template have been sent to you before and is available in our BL Fellows Yahoo group for download.
2) IMPORTANT: 2nd Leadership Workshop
- Where: AIM, Makati City
- When: March 4-6, 2008; For Fellows who are not from or near Manila, we are expecting you to arrive on March 3, and leave on March 7. Accommodations will be prepared for you.
- Flights: We are already starting to book those of you who need flights so we can avail of promos (see attached excel document for your bookings). Your tickets will be made available in the Cebu Pacific/PAL offices in your area. I will contact you for more details regarding this soon.
