The Bridging Leadership Fellows Program seeks Filipino leaders from the civil society, government (including its line agencies), and military sectors of the Philippines, who are committed to addressing the complex social issues of the country.

To be eligible for the Program, the prospective Fellow must:

  1. Be a resident of and be working in the Philippines;
  2. Preferably have 10 years of service;
  3. Be at least 30 years old at the time of nomination;
  4. Play a significant, demonstrable role in effecting policy reform or steering program success at the national or institutional level;
  5. Be currently involved in a leadership capacity in addressing divides related but not limited to Environment, Energy and Education;
  6. Articulate clear leadership goals in addressing the societal divide, defining the managerial interventions required and relating how the program would help in achieving these goals; and
  7. Be able and willing to undertake the program requirements.

The Fellowship slots are granted through a highly competitive nomination and screening process. The prospective Fellow must first be nominated by individuals who are of a respected standing in a community or organization and who is serving at least, at the city or municipal level. The nominator must be able to personally attest to the accomplishments, character and resolve of the nominee.

Nominees for the Fellowship are evaluated according to

  1. their demonstrated leadership record,
  2. the potential impact that the program may have in improving their ability to resolve societal divides,
  3. the breadth of their perspective,
  4. enthusiasm for continued learning, and
  5. their prospective contribution to the network of Bridging Leadership practitioners.

The Program’s selection committee evaluates based on the submitted documents, referrals, and personal interviews. Prospective Fellows should be able to clearly define their leadership goals for the duration of the program and articulate the impact of these goals on the resolution of the societal divide they are addressing. The chosen Fellows should also possess high levels of integrity, dynamism and the resolve to make a difference in the divided communities they are bridging.
